The Diabetes Online Community was unofficially began in early 2005 by individuals with diabetes who wanted to share their life with the world in order to help others find solace and comfort, a better understanding of diabetes and an appreciation for the dedication and determination of those living with the disease. The website was created and launched on November 9, 2005, which includes a listing of all blogs written by people affected with diabetes and links to other diabetes resources.
Inquisitive, perhaps-just-a-tad overly analytical new diabetic based in San Francisco, CA. Diagnosed with Type 1 in May 2003. BA in Journalism, MA in Communication Studies. After living overseas and many years of PR/marketing work for high-tech companies in Silicon Valley, currently a part-time freelance writer for the IT industry and full-time mom. Enjoys reading, cooking, aerobics, hiking, swimming, wine, weekend getaways, my kids(!) Oh yes, late thirties and (nearly) fitter than ever! My New Year’s resolution for the year after diagnosis was: Enjoy Life.
